I feel sorry for the two girls that thought it would be awesome to harass me yesterday when I was walking down High St. When you yell the nasty of nastiest things to a stranger and scream that you hope they die, out of a moving vehicle, for personal amusement, it is pretty sad. And the fact they did it three times is pretty pathetic. Don’t they have something better to do? Guess not. Lady genius: everybody dies @ some point. For a moment I thought I might be getting in a fight for the first time in my life and am a little disappointed that the third time, I yelled back. Little did they know that I am in a love gang, and will kill you with kindness. oh yeah!

The Shel Silverstein is one of my favorite authors, who not only wrote and illustrated the children’s works for which he is most widely known, but also wrote 130 short plays for more mature audiences. He also wrote thirty #1 hit songs, including “A Boy Named Sue’ for Johnny Cash.

Whatif

Last night, while I lay thinking here,
some Whatifs crawled inside my ear
and pranced and partied all night long
and sang their same old Whatif song:
Whatif I’m dumb in school?
Whatif they’ve closed the swimming pool?
Whatif I get beat up?
Whatif there’s poison in my cup?
Whatif I start to cry?
Whatif I get sick and die?
Whatif I flunk that test?
Whatif green hair grows on my chest?
Whatif nobody likes me?
Whatif a bolt of lightning strikes me?
Whatif I don’t grow talle?
Whatif my head starts getting smaller?
Whatif the fish won’t bite?
Whatif the wind tears up my kite?
Whatif they start a war?
Whatif my parents get divorced?
Whatif the bus is late?
Whatif my teeth don’t grow in straight?
Whatif I tear my pants?
Whatif I never learn to dance?
Everything seems well, and then
the nighttime Whatifs strike again!

How many How Much

How many slams in an old screen door?
Depends how loud you shut it.
How many slices in a bread?
Depends how thin you cut it.
How much good inside a day?
Depends how good you live ‘em.
How much love inside a friend?
Depends how much you give ‘em.

Teh`

This is my positive thought of the day for June 2, 2010 by Norman Vincent Peale:

This is my positive thought of the day for June 2, 2010 by Norman Vincent Peale:

“When you think you are down for good, simply start affirming: “What an advantage to have hit bottom. The bottom is as far down as I can go. The only direction from here is up. And up I am going.”

This quote comes from the book: “Positive Thinking Every Day. An Inspiration for each day of the year.” It was a cherished gift from my mother.

Life isn’t always easy. It can be rather difficult, but in the end it will all be ok (or even great). If it isn’t, it just isn’t the end yet. When faced with problems, know that there is indeed a solution. With the right attitude and some effort, the problem will most likely start to solve itself.

Sometimes obstacles may seem too great to conquer, but rest assured, that somebody has almost certainly accomplished much more with much less.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant,
gorgeous, handsome, talented and fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.

Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking
so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.

We were born to make manifest the glory of God within us.
It is not just in some; it is in everyone.

And, as we let our own light shine, we consciously give
other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our fear,
our presence automatically liberates others.
